Methodology

Research Methodology

Every platform page on this site, including the NordicFX review, is produced with the same framework. Publishing it lets readers reproduce our work and challenge our conclusions.

Principles

Three rules govern the framework. Findings must trace to primary sources. Gaps must be published rather than filled. Scores must describe documentation and product surface quality, never financial safety or suitability for an individual.

The seven criteria

Each criterion produces a recorded finding or a recorded gap. A criterion that cannot be assessed from public material is scored as a gap, and gaps count against the total because the absence of disclosure is itself a research result.

  • Regulatory entity and licence, verified on the regulator's own register
  • Specificity of published legal documentation and client agreements
  • Consolidated cost disclosure: spread, commission, financing, account fees
  • Platform tooling: order types, charting accuracy, margin visibility, exports
  • Support responsiveness measured with precise technical questions
  • Documented withdrawal methods, conditions and timelines
  • Independent reputation signals, weighted by source quality

Scoring model

Each criterion is scored from 1 to 5 against a written rubric. The headline score is the mean, rounded to one decimal. Scores are recalculated whenever an underlying finding changes, and the review's date reflects the most recent recalculation.

The score measures what we could verify. It is not a prediction of a user's outcome and it is not a safety rating. Two platforms with identical scores can have very different risk profiles for a given individual.

Data collection

Documentation is read in full rather than skimmed for quotes. Where a live environment is used, observations are timestamped and recorded in a structured log: intended price, filled price, latency, spread at the moment of execution, and platform behaviour during scheduled announcements.

Small samples are labelled as small. We would rather publish fifty observations described as fifty observations than imply a statistical claim the data cannot support.

Limitations we accept openly

Public documentation changes without notice, so any finding about nordic-fx.com or any other operator describes a point in time. Conditions can differ by jurisdiction, account tier and entity. Execution observations reflect our network and hours, not yours. None of these limitations can be engineered away; they can only be disclosed.

Reproducing our work

Everything we do is available to any reader with time and patience: read the terms, check the register, total the costs, ask support precise questions, and test a withdrawal early. NordicFX Research Hub adds structure and consistency, not private access.
